How to use your skip

Important things to know about your skip from McKinstry:

If you experience any problems with your skip please contact us right away and we will try and resolve the issue as soon as possible. Because Skip Hire involves heavy haulage, it is not always possible to give you an exact time for delivery. We are very flexible and will always try our best to fit in with your plans/ arrangements.
Skips must NOT be overloaded. Not only can this prove difficult when picking the skip up, it also poses a hazard to motorists and pedestrians and this is highly illegal. The correct way of loading a skip is for the waste inside not to exceed the top of the walls of the skip, particularly if the waste is predominately brick and rubble. For health and safety reasons, McKinstry Skip Hire reserves the right to `level' the waste on picking up the skip if it is deemed unsuitable for transit. McKinstry Skip Hire does not accept:
• Food waste
• Computer monitor
• Televisions
• Full paint cans
• Aerosols
• Gas canisters
• Tyres
• Fridges/ Freezers.

- McKinstry Skip Hire does not accept asbestos-in any shape or form! - Under NO circumstances should a fire be started in a skip.

The skip must not be moved from the position on site agreed by the customer and the McKinstry Skip Hire driver.
Please ensure that the agreed position for the skip is clear of any obstruction. Anyone using a public road or footpath will require a permit from the D.O.E. Roads Service, to avoid unexpected and unauthorised collection from the site. In the unlikely event that the driver asks you for money or gives you an invoice, tell them that you have already paid for it through McKinstry Skip Hire.
We accept; Rubble, Clay, Fines, Wood, Rubbish, Topsoil, Cardboard, Clay and Scrap (The items we accept should be in a different font colour to draw attention to them)
These items will be successfully sorted at our Recycling Facility. However we feel that it's extremely important that customers themselves take an active part in the process. For this reason it is encouraged that you help to segregate the waste on site and a reduced rate per skip will be provided if this is carried our to our satisfaction.
